  • Level 2 – Improvers/ quiet roads (Duration: 2 hour) Starting to ride independently on roads including; start/stop, passing parked cars, U-turns, road positioning, when it’s appropriate to share or control the road, understanding road priorities at junctions. Planning a journey and understanding road signs and floor markings.
  • Level 3 – Advanced/ busy roads (Duration: 2 ½ hours) Cycling skills for busier roads including; advanced road positioning techniques, multi-lane roads, passing slow moving traffic, roundabouts, traffic lights and if practical, infrastructure on the roads designed for riders’ safety and ease.

Depending on ability and availability, it may be possible to complete ALL levels in just one session.

What you will need for the session

  • It is best to use your own bicycle you are familiar riding on. If you don’t have access to one, we may be able to lend you a bicycle to use on the day (advance notice is required).
  • We promote safe cycling and would recommend you wear a helmet; bring your own or let us know if you need to borrow one (advance notice is required).
  • Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear, suitable for cycling. Extra layers and waterproofs are always recommended.
  • Bright coloured clothing is recommended. A FREE Hi Viz tabard will be provided for every rider to keep for future use.

If you bring your own cycle, our instructors will help you carry out a basic maintenance check, also known as the ‘M check’.

Covid-19

  • Face masks are not required with outdoor activity.
  • The instructor will spray your bicycle with a sanitising spray before and after making any adjustments.
