Subsidised bicycle loans
Subsidised bicycle loans are available to eligible jobseekers in Mansfield and Ashfield, to offer a sustainable way to travel to and from new employment or training.
Bicycle recipients will also get free adult cycle training from a qualified cycle instructor, and cycling safety gear including a helmet, bicycle lock, hi-vis tabard, bicycle lights, and more.
To apply for a bicycle loan, you must:
- live within the Ashfield area
- have an offer of work or training, or be starting employment (written proof is needed)
- have received advice from the Travel Choice team and the Travel Choice must have determined that transport is a clear barrier to accessing employment
- agree to participate in before and after surveys
- be able to ride a bike, or take adult cycling lessons
